Spotify curates a playlist of the most streamed songs in the U.S. and updates it on Fridays to reflect streaming data for the previous week, beginning on the preceding Friday and ending on Thursday. This market will resolve according to the second most-streamed song in the U.S. on Spotify for the week labeled November 6. Songs will be primarily ranked by order on the specified chart. If two or more songs are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the songs' listed titles. This market will resolve to the song that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If Spotify does not release its #2 song for the week labeled November 6 by November 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will default to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from Spotify. The Weekly Top Songs - USA chart can be found on open.spotify.com under the "Charts" heading. This market and these products have not been endorsed by Spotify. Currently, prediction market odds offer a unique perspective compared to traditional analyst forecasts for the US Spotify charts. While analysts often rely on streaming data and historical trends, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, reflecting a broader range of factors and potential surprises. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, as market participants may have insights that aren’t immediately apparent in standard data analysis. This allows for a dynamic assessment of probabilities, potentially identifying undervalued or overvalued outcomes in the music landscape.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each song’s probability of becoming the number two song on the US Spotify charts. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the crowd, offering a real-time estimate of the likelihood of each song reaching the specified chart position. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official US Spotify charts are published and the number two song is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the ranking reported by Spotify's official charts for the relevant week. Traders will then be able to see which prediction proved accurate, and payouts will be distributed accordingly. The market’s outcome is determined solely by the publicly available Spotify chart data, ensuring a transparent and objective resolution process.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Unexpected surges in streaming activity for a particular song, driven by viral trends on social media or promotional campaigns, could rapidly shift the odds. Major artist endorsements or appearances could also influence listener behavior and impact chart positions. Furthermore, the release of new music from competing artists could alter the landscape and affect predictions related to the US Spotify charts. Any substantial change in streaming data or public attention could lead to significant price movements in this market.
