Three professional golfers compete in a 3-ball matchup during the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open. The golfer with the lowest score for the round wins the matchup.
Resolution is determined by the lowest score achieved by each participant in the 1st round of the 2026 U.S. Open. If multiple participants are tied for the lowest score at the end of the round, the Yes payout is divided equally among all tied participants, with each receiving $1/N rounded down to the nearest cent, where N equals the number of tied participants. The No payout equals $1 minus the Yes payout. If any golfer withdraws prior to teeing off, all markets resolve to fair market value.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margin, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. For this matchup, comparing the implied probability on Kalshi to traditional golf betting lines can reveal whether the crowd of prediction market traders views the three players differently than professional oddsmakers. Both sources offer valuable signals, but prediction markets sometimes capture information faster due to their continuous pricing mechanism.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability reflects the latest trades and available liquidity at the bid-ask spread. As new information emerges—such as player form, course conditions, or injury updates—traders adjust their positions, which moves the price. You can enter limit or market orders to express your view, and the market price updates in real time based on supply and demand from the trading community.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the first round of the tournament concludes and results are finalized. The outcome will be verified against credible public sources to confirm which player wins the 3-ball matchup. Until that point, the market remains open for trading, allowing you to adjust your position as new developments unfold. Resolution is automatic once the event is complete and the winner is officially confirmed.
Several catalysts could shift prices before this market resolves. Recent tournament results and player form are key—strong finishes or poor performances in lead-up events will influence trader positioning. Course fit and weather conditions matter significantly in golf, as do any announced injuries or withdrawals. Media coverage and expert analysis can also sway sentiment. Additionally, real-time scoring during the first round itself will drive rapid repricing as the actual matchup unfolds and one player gains an advantage over the others.
