Description

In a 3-ball golf competition format, three golfers compete together during the first round of the 2026 John Deere Classic. The golfer with the lowest score for the round wins the matchup. If a golfer withdraws before teeing off, all related markets resolve to fair market value.

Kalshi

The winner of each 3-ball matchup is determined by the lowest score recorded during the first round of the 2026 John Deere Classic. If two or more participants finish the round tied for the lowest score, the Yes payout is divided equally among all tied participants, calculated as $1 divided by the number of tied golfers and rounded down to the nearest cent, with the No payout representing the remainder. Any golfer who withdraws prior to teeing off triggers resolution of all markets at fair market value.

Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the PGA Tour 1st round 3-ball market dashboard tracks real-time odds and price history for this specific grouping of golfers competing in the opening round. The interface displays current market probability, 24-hour trading volume, and historical price movements to help traders monitor sentiment shifts. This dashboard lets you follow how the market reprices as new information emerges—weather updates, player form, or course conditions—before the event begins. You can compare current odds against your own assessment and execute trades directly from the dashboard view.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money conviction. Traders here are betting their own capital on outcomes, which can surface information faster than traditional oddsmakers incorporate it. Over time, prediction market prices tend to converge toward actual probabilities, making them a useful benchmark for comparing against sportsbook lines on the same event.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a bid-ask spread, and the midpoint reflects the current market consensus probability. Prices move as new orders flow in, allowing you to enter at the best available price or set limit orders to execute automatically. The platform's matching engine ensures transparent, real-time price discovery driven entirely by trader supply and demand.

This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once the 1st round 3-ball event concludes and results are verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official PGA Tour scoring and leaderboard data. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new information emerges during the round. Resolution is automatic once the event is complete and the data is finalized.

Several factors can shift prices before this market resolves. Course conditions—rainfall, wind, temperature—can favor certain playing styles or ball-striking profiles. Player health updates or last-minute withdrawals would immediately reprice the odds. Recent tournament form, practice-round reports, and betting action from sharp money can all trigger significant moves. Media coverage highlighting a player's hot streak or cold stretch may also influence trader positioning. Real-time scoring during the round itself will drive the most dramatic repricing as actual performance becomes known.
