Three professional golfers compete in a 3-ball matchup during the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open. The golfer with the lowest score for the round wins the matchup.
The winner of the 3-ball matchup is determined by the lowest score achieved during the 1st round of the 2026 U.S. Open. If multiple participants are tied for the lowest score at the end of the round, the Yes payout is divided equally among all tied participants, calculated as $1 divided by the number of tied participants and rounded down to the nearest cent, with the No payout equal to $1 minus the Yes payout. If any golfer withdraws prior to teeing off, all markets resolve to fair market value.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. For this market, comparing Kalshi's implied probabilities to major sportsbook lines can reveal where the two venues disagree on the likely result, potentially highlighting value or consensus shifts in how the golf community views the matchup.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of market participants about the likelihood of that outcome occurring. As new trades execute, prices update in real time, allowing you to enter or exit positions at the current market rate and see exactly how conviction shifts throughout the trading period.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the 3-Ball competition concludes and the results are verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the official tournament results and the final standings of the three competitors involved. Until that point, traders can adjust positions as the event unfolds and new information becomes available.
Several factors could shift odds in this market before resolution. Recent form and scoring trends for Hardy, Hammer, and Schoenberger will influence trader expectations, as will course conditions and weather on tournament day. Injury reports, equipment changes, or public statements from the golfers themselves may also trigger repricing. Additionally, early-round performance by any of the three competitors could dramatically alter probabilities as traders update their forecasts based on live play and emerging patterns.
