Description

Three professional golfers compete in a 3-ball matchup during the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open. The golfer with the lowest score for the round wins the matchup.

Kalshi

The winner of the 3-ball matchup is determined by the lowest score posted during the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open. If multiple participants tie for the lowest score at the end of the round, the Yes payout is divided equally among all tied participants, with each receiving $1/N rounded down to the nearest cent, where N equals the number of tied participants. The No payout equals $1 minus the Yes payout. If any golfer withdraws prior to teeing off, all markets resolve to fair market value.

Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the 1st Round 3-Ball golf market dashboard tracks real-time odds and price movements for this specific grouping in the opening round of a professional golf tournament. The interface displays current market probability, 24-hour trading volume, and historical price charts so traders can monitor how sentiment shifts as the event approaches. This dashboard lets you see at a glance which outcome is favored and how actively traders are positioning themselves ahead of the tournament's start.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different trader bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and generate profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders risking real capital. This market may show different implied probabilities than major sportsbooks, particularly if professional bettors and casual traders on the platform hold distinct views about the three golfers' performance in this opening pairing.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the real-time probability of each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the last traded price reflects the platform's consensus forecast. Prices typically tighten as the tournament approaches and new information becomes available.

This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the first round of the tournament concludes and results are verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the actual performance and finishing position of the three golfers in the designated 3-ball grouping during that opening round. Resolution occurs after official scoring is confirmed and any potential disputes are settled.

Several factors may shift odds before this market closes: recent tournament form and scoring trends for each golfer, course conditions and weather forecasts on tournament day, equipment or swing changes announced by the players, injury updates or late withdrawals, and betting action from professional syndicates or sharp money. Major news about any of the three competitors—such as a strong or weak recent finish—can also trigger rapid repricing. Real-time leaderboard updates during the first round will drive final adjustments.
