Three professional golfers compete in a 3-ball matchup during the first round of the 2026 U.S. Open. The golfer with the lowest score for the round wins the matchup.
Resolution is determined by the lowest score achieved by each participant in the 1st round of the 2026 U.S. Open. If multiple participants are tied for the lowest score at the end of the round, the Yes payout is divided equally among all tied participants, with each receiving $1/N rounded down to the nearest cent, where N equals the number of tied participants. The No payout equals $1 minus the Yes payout. If any golfer withdraws prior to teeing off, all markets resolve to fair market value.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader positioning rather than fixed bookmaker spreads. Sportsbooks manage risk through margin and adjust lines to balance action, while prediction markets aggregate decentralized participant beliefs continuously. This market may offer different implied probabilities than major sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges or trading volume shifts. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value differently than professional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices reflect the balance of supply and demand; as more traders favor one competitor, that contract's price rises and others fall. The implied probability of each outcome is derived directly from the contract price, so the market continuously reprices itself as new bets arrive and sentiment evolves.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the event concludes and results are verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official results of the 3-Ball competition, with the winning prediction determined by which competitor finishes in the specified position or achieves the predicted result. Resolution timing may shift slightly if official confirmation is delayed.
Market prices may shift based on recent performance data, player form, injury reports, or changes in tournament conditions. Media coverage and expert analysis can influence trader sentiment, as can betting patterns from informed participants. Weather, course difficulty, or head-to-head matchup history may also drive repricing. As the event date approaches, any official announcements or late-breaking news about the competitors could trigger significant movement in this market.
