Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own research and insights. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. It’s common to see prediction markets move more quickly to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, especially as the event draws closer. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of them scoring first. Conversely, selling shares drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading it.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team scores the first goal in the Zhejiang Zhiye FC versus Shanghai Haigang FC match. If no goal is scored, the market will resolve as 'No Goal Scored'. The resolution will be based on official match records and data, ensuring a transparent and accurate determination of the winning outcome for this market.
