In a college football contest between Yale and Penn, the first half winner will be decided by which team scores more points in the initial 30 minutes. The outcome is determined exclusively by first half performance, with no consideration of the second half.
The market resolves based on the winner of the first half of the Yale vs Penn college football game scheduled for October 23, 2026. If Penn, Yale, or neither team (tie) wins the first half, the respective market will resolve to Yes. Only points scored during the first half count. If the game is postponed but begins within 48 hours of the original start time, the market will remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market will resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what’s immediately available to sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that more accurately predict the outcome. It's common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available or as public sentiment shifts, though both aim to represent the probability of each team winning the first half. Keep in mind that sportsbooks and prediction markets have different incentives and user bases.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the latest information and sentiment. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand – if more people believe Yale will win the first half, the price of that contract will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official result of which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Yale vs Penn game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes, and any open contracts will be settled accordingly.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Yale or Penn would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance leading up to the game, such as unexpected wins or losses, could also shift expectations. Even broader factors, like weather forecasts predicting adverse conditions that might favor one team’s playing style, could impact trading activity. Public sentiment and any major betting trends reported in the media could also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
