Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows anyone to trade and express their views. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the prediction market odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or news breaks.
