Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, which can sometimes differ from sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and a desire to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from the mispricing between the two types of markets. However, as the event approaches, the odds on this market tend to converge with those offered by sportsbooks.

The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now.
