Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, while prediction markets aim to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd with less inherent bias. It’s common to see differences in probabilities, as prediction markets can rapidly adjust to new information and potentially identify mispriced opportunities that sportsbooks haven’t yet accounted for. Examining both sources can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the expected outcome of this market.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the match's potential results.
