On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific player, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability of that player winning. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, with traders adjusting their positions based on new information, injuries, or changes in player form. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continually adapt to reflect the latest insights.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the Guangzhou WTA tournament is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official tournament results as published by the WTA and recognized sports news outlets. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on these official results. The market will settle to 100% for the winning player and 0% for all other players, reflecting the definitive result of the tournament.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Player injuries are a major catalyst, as the absence of a top contender would dramatically shift the odds. Unexpected upsets in early rounds of the tournament could also cause substantial price movements. News regarding player form, coaching changes, or even weather conditions in Guangzhou could all impact trader sentiment. Any significant information that alters perceptions of a player’s chances of winning is likely to be reflected in the market, leading to shifts in probabilities and trading volume.
