Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. If a significant discrepancy emerges between this market and sportsbook odds, it may indicate that traders possess information not yet fully incorporated into the sportsbook lines, or that they simply have a different assessment of the probabilities involved. It's common to see convergence as the event approaches, but notable differences can persist.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Wrexham vs. Preston second half. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to changing conditions and provides a clear signal of the crowd’s expectations.
