This market assesses whether specific wide receivers will rank among the top five performers in fantasy points during a designated week of the professional football season, using a points-per-reception scoring system.
Each market resolves to 'Yes' if the named wide receiver finishes within the top five in total full-PPR fantasy points for all eligible wide receivers in Week 5 of the 2026 NFL regular season, as calculated by Sleeper. Points include receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, rushing stats for eligible players, kicking points, and defensive/special teams contributions. Players not participating that week score zero. Ties at the qualifying positions split payouts equally among tied players based on the fraction 1/N, where N is the number of tied players. All calculations incorporate overtime gameplay.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each wide receiver finishing in the top 5. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information or analytical approaches. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges and traders adjust their forecasts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each wide receiver being in the top 5, and the price of each contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of that outcome’s probability. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the overall expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a player is likely to be in the top 5, the price of their contract will increase, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official Week 5 fantasy football results are verifiable from credible public reporting. The top 5 wide receivers, based on standard fantasy point scoring (PPR), will determine the winning contracts. Resolution will be based on the final, official fantasy point totals as reported by a major fantasy sports provider, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Injury reports are crucial; news of a key injury to a top wide receiver would likely shift probabilities. Changes in quarterback performance or offensive schemes could also influence expectations. Unexpected matchups or defensive vulnerabilities revealed during Week 5 games could cause traders to reassess their predictions. Finally, late-breaking news regarding player availability or weather conditions could lead to substantial price movements in this market as traders react to the latest information.
