This market refers to the cricket match between South Africa Champions and West Indies Champions scheduled for October 4 2026 at 7:30 AM ET in World Championship of Legends. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like house edges and public perception biases, while this market relies on the collective judgment of informed traders. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges. Analyzing these differences can reveal where the crowd believes sportsbooks are over or undervaluing certain outcomes. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees the actual result of the World Championship of Legends.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust, reflecting the evolving consensus. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or other prediction venues.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The platform will verify the winning team against publicly available and trusted sources to determine the winning outcome of this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, team strategies, or changes in coaching could significantly shift the perceived probabilities. Unexpected results in preliminary matches or changes in weather conditions could also play a role. Furthermore, major announcements related to the teams or the championship itself, such as sponsorship deals or rule changes, might impact trader sentiment. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential movements in the World Championship of Legends market before Oct 11, 2026.
