This market refers to the cricket match between India Champions and Australia Champions scheduled for October 3 2026 at 7:30 AM ET in World Championship of Legends. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on team rankings and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the likely winner. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access and incentives. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially as the event nears and more information becomes available, though sportsbook odds remain a valuable comparative data point.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of these shares reflects the collective prediction of the crowd, fluctuating based on supply and demand. Higher demand for shares indicating a particular outcome will drive up its price, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. The current price of shares represents the probability, as perceived by the market, of that outcome occurring in the World Championship of Legends.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the World Championship of Legends, determining which team – India Champions or Australia Champions – emerges victorious. The platform will verify the result against widely available and trusted sources to ensure accuracy. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events based on the verified outcome of this competition.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Unexpected player injuries or changes in team strategies for either the India Champions or Australia Champions could significantly shift expectations. Major news regarding team performance in preceding tournaments or practice matches would also be a catalyst. Public sentiment, reflected in social media discussions and expert analysis, can also play a role, though to a lesser extent than concrete events. Any significant development impacting the perceived strength of either team has the potential to move this market.
