This market refers to the cricket match between Australia Champions and West Indies Champions scheduled for October 11 2026 at 7:30 AM ET in World Championship of Legends. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small group of experts, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of each venue. It's common to find that this market incorporates information faster than sportsbooks, especially regarding late-breaking news or changes in team conditions. However, sportsbooks may have advantages in modeling complex scenarios.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand, with traders adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results of the World Championship of Legends, determining which team emerges as the victor. Traders who hold shares in the winning team will receive a payout equivalent to 1 minus the trading fee, while shares in the losing team will be worth nothing. The market’s resolution is designed to be objective and based on publicly available information.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team rosters, player injuries, or changes in team strategy could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected results in preliminary matches or significant upsets in other related competitions could also impact trader sentiment. Public opinion, expert analysis, and even social media trends can play a role in shaping market perceptions. Major announcements related to the event's logistics or format could also introduce volatility, causing shifts in the price of shares.
