Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of outcomes. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts as new information and opinions emerge. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly as the event approaches and more participants weigh in.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, and vice versa. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This creates a dynamic pricing mechanism that aggregates the beliefs of all participants. The more volume traded, the more confidence there is in the price accurately reflecting the underlying probability of the event.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Wofford vs. Samford game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score and official result will be used to determine the winning outcome in this market. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will be eligible for payouts based on the final market prices at resolution. The platform relies on publicly available information to ensure a transparent and accurate resolution process.
