These markets track how many touchdowns are caught by players receiving the ball in a college football matchup. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the game, including any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team during the Wisconsin vs UCLA college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as one scored by the player who caught the pass; touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble do not count, unless the receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of a team scoring touchdowns. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of trading. If there is a significant difference, it may present an opportunity for arbitrage, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It's important to compare and contrast to form your own informed opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. Each contract represents a potential outcome – in this case, whether a team will score touchdowns. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price fluctuates, providing a dynamic representation of collective belief. The current price indicates the implied probability of a team scoring touchdowns, with higher prices suggesting a greater likelihood.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether each team scored at least one touchdown during the Wisconsin vs UCLA game. Official game statistics and play-by-play data will be used to determine the final result. The market will close and payouts will be calculated based on whether the contracts align with the actual game outcome. Traders will be able to see the resolution details on Kalshi following the completion of the game.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Wisconsin or UCLA would likely cause significant movement, as the ability of star players to score impacts the likelihood of touchdowns. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is predicted, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, pre-game analysis from sports analysts and updated betting lines from sportsbooks could influence trader sentiment and drive price fluctuations. Unexpected announcements about team strategies or coaching decisions could also contribute to movement in this market.
