This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Wisconsin and UCLA. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Wisconsin vs UCLA college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific numerical threshold; if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No. Points from overtime periods are excluded from all calculations. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, all markets will resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific threshold they bet on.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own information and analysis. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or breaking news. Comparing this market to sportsbook odds can reveal where the crowd believes there's value, or where the sportsbook may be mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. Keep in mind that prediction markets allow for continuous price discovery, unlike the fixed odds offered by sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of the 4th quarter total being over or under a specific number. The price of a contract reflects the market's consensus view of that probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to incorporate new information and opinions. The closer we get to the event, the more the price will likely move, reflecting increased certainty and potentially higher volume as traders attempt to capitalize on perceived mispricings. The current price indicates what traders are collectively willing to pay for a contract that pays out if the outcome matches their prediction.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Wisconsin vs UCLA game, specifically the total points scored in the 4th quarter, will determine whether the 'yes' or 'no' outcome prevails. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable result. Traders who held contracts corresponding to the correct outcome will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either the Wisconsin or UCLA teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to significantly impact scoring, could also shift the market. Unexpected line-up changes or strategic adjustments announced by either coach could also play a role. Finally, significant betting activity or large trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and drive price fluctuations as traders react to new information or perceived opportunities.
