This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the match. The rules clarify what counts as a valid receiving touchdown and address scenarios like game postponements.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Wisconsin or Iowa in their game scheduled for October 31, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as one scored by the player who caught the pass; if another player recovers a fumble and scores, it does not count. Successful two-point conversions are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price on Kalshi will move accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information becomes available or public perception shifts, offering potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, which team will receive touchdowns. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, with higher prices indicating greater perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, constantly updating as new information and opinions are incorporated. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring touchdowns during the Wisconsin vs Iowa game. Official game statistics and reporting will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Wisconsin or Iowa would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to a specific offensive style, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, updates on team strategies or coaching decisions, as well as any shifts in public perception based on expert analysis, could all contribute to price fluctuations in this market before Oct 31, 2026.
