Description

This market tracks whether either team will dominate the opening period of an NHL game by winning by more than a one-goal margin. It focuses specifically on the first period's outcome, ignoring later periods or overtime scenarios. The result hinges solely on the score differential within the first 20 minutes of play.

Kalshi

The market resolves based on whether either Winnipeg or Tampa Bay wins the first period by more than a one-goal margin. If Tampa Bay secures a victory with a score differential of two or more goals in the first period, that specific market resolves to Yes. Similarly, if Winnipeg achieves the same condition, its corresponding market resolves to Yes. Both markets share identical secondary rules: if the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game is cancelled or fails to start within this window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Overtime during the third period is excluded from consideration for these first-period-specific markets.
