Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player reaches a kill streak of 10 or more kills (announced in game as "Beyond Godlike") in any game of the BLAST Slam VIII Playoffs (the LAN Finals held at BLAST Arena Studios in Malta), currently scheduled for October 8 to October 11, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A kill streak is the number of enemy heroes a player kills without dying in between, as tracked by the Dota 2 game client. Only completed official games of the Playoffs stage count (Upper Bracket, Lower Bracket, and Grand Final). Games from the Group Stage, Seeding Matches, and Last Chance stage do not count. Games that are remade or not completed, and games awarded by forfeit without being played, do not count. This market may resolve to "Yes" as soon as a qualifying kill streak is confirmed in a completed game. If the BLAST Slam VIII Playoffs are canceled, or are postponed such that they have not concluded by November 10, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No", unless a qualifying kill streak has already occurred. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match data from OpenDota (https://www.opendota.com) for the games of the BLAST Slam VIII Playoffs; however, Dotabuff (https://www.dotabuff.com), Datdota (https://www.datdota.com), official broadcast footage, and a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting patterns and promotional offers, this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the likelihood of a player going 'Beyond Godlike'. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets tend to be more efficient at aggregating information and identifying mispricings. It’s common to see differences in implied probabilities, especially for outcomes considered less likely by the general public.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome, and the price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the market's aggregated assessment of whether any player will reach 'Beyond Godlike' status at the BLAST Slam VIII Playoffs, based on the information available to traders.

This market resolves around Nov 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether any player demonstrably achieves the 'Beyond Godlike' status as defined by the game's official statistics during the BLAST Slam VIII Playoffs. The outcome will be determined by reviewing official match results and statistical data released by the tournament organizers. The resolution process focuses on objective, publicly available data to ensure a transparent and verifiable result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Strong individual performances by key players in the lead-up to the playoffs could increase confidence in their ability to reach 'Beyond Godlike' status. Unexpected roster changes or strategic shifts within teams could also impact the perceived probabilities. Furthermore, any news regarding player health or form, or even significant meta changes within the game, could cause traders to reassess their positions and adjust the market price accordingly. Major upsets during the early stages of the playoffs would also likely trigger significant movement.
