Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player records 461 or more total kills across all maps played during VALORANT Champions 2026 (also known as VCT Champions 2026), currently scheduled for September 24 to October 18, 2026, in Shanghai, China, breaking the record for the most kills by a single player at a VALORANT Champions event. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The current record is 460 kills, set by Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker (OpTic Gaming) at VALORANT Champions 2022, according to vlr.gg. Kills recorded in overtime rounds count. Only completed maps count. Exactly 460 kills would tie, not break, the record and would resolve this market to "No". If VALORANT Champions 2026 is canceled, or is postponed such that it has not concluded by November 17, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be the vlr.gg event stats page (https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/2766/valorant-champions-2026). However, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Frequently asked questions

Currently, it’s difficult to directly compare the odds on this market to those offered by traditional sportsbooks, as sportsbooks may not offer wagers on such a specific statistical outcome. However, generally, prediction markets like Polymarket often reflect the collective wisdom of informed bettors and can sometimes provide more accurate probabilities than initial sportsbook lines. If sportsbooks were to offer odds on a player breaking the kill record, we might expect them to initially be less informed and potentially more influenced by pre-tournament hype than the odds found in this market.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether any player will break the VALORANT Champions single-tournament kill record. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, indicating a higher probability, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly reflects the market’s implied probability of the event occurring, and the market is open to trading until it resolves. The current price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Nov 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official statistics released by VALORANT Champions organizers following the conclusion of the tournament. The market will determine whether any single player achieved a higher kill count than the existing single-tournament record. The official tournament results will serve as the definitive source for resolving this market.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Strong performances by individual players in lead-up tournaments, announcements regarding roster changes for top teams, or any news suggesting a shift in the meta favoring aggressive playstyles could all move the odds. Unexpected upsets during the VALORANT Champions tournament itself, or particularly dominant performances by specific players in early matches, would also likely cause substantial shifts in the market. Any information regarding player health or potential absences could also be a key catalyst.
