Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can drive the price on Polymarket in the opposite direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts closer to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Wigan Athletic FC or Bromley FC will score first. As more shares are purchased for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the collective intelligence of the traders on the platform. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
