Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on their own analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows anyone to trade and express their beliefs, which can lead to odds that diverge from traditional sportsbooks. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information and perspectives that sportsbooks might overlook, especially as new information emerges closer to the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Western Illinois will win the first half. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome. As more people buy 'yes' contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current market price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating on Kalshi.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
