This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between West Virginia and TCU. Each market has a different threshold, allowing participants to speculate on whether the combined scoring will exceed various point totals.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the West Virginia vs TCU college football game scheduled for Oct 24, 2026. Each individual market has a specific point threshold; if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No. For all markets, only points scored in the 4th quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows individuals to express their own informed opinions. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for anyone trying to assess the likely outcome, but remember that each represents a distinct form of forecasting. The differences can highlight areas where the crowd disagrees with experts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand – if more people believe the total will be higher, the price of contracts representing higher totals will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to provide a real-time assessment of the likely outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total points scored in the 4th quarter of the West Virginia vs TCU game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by the governing body of college football. The final score will be the determining factor, and the market will settle to 100 for the correct outcome. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual 4th quarter total will receive a payout.
Several signals could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either West Virginia or TCU would likely cause significant movement, as scoring potential is directly tied to player availability. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the passing or running game, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters, and any strategic adjustments made by the coaches, could influence traders’ beliefs about the final quarter’s scoring potential, leading to price fluctuations.
