This market refers to the cricket match between India and West Indies scheduled for October 17 2026 at 9:30 AM ET in West Indies Tour of India T20s. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If a significant difference emerges between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it might suggest that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different perspectives on the same event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect new information and changing sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven entirely by supply and demand; no external factors directly influence it, though real-world events certainly impact trader behavior and, consequently, the price.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the India vs West Indies T20 series is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle based on the official results published by relevant sporting authorities. The outcome will be determined by which team wins the series, or if the series ends in a tie, the outcome will be determined according to the official rules of the tournament. The final result will be used to determine which contracts pay out.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Unexpected injuries to key players on either team, changes in weather conditions that might favor one side, or significant shifts in public opinion based on early match results could all lead to price movements. Any news regarding team selection, strategic changes, or player form could also impact trader sentiment and, therefore, the odds. Major upsets in other concurrent cricket matches might also indirectly affect this market as traders reassess overall team strengths.
