Currently, Polymarket gives a 100.0% probability to “West Indies Tour of India T20s: India vs West Indies - Completed match?” and a 0.1% probability to the alternative outcome. Resolution will be based on the result reported at https://www.espncricinfo.com/. This market refers to the cricket match between India and West Indies scheduled for October 14 2026 at 9:30 AM ET in West Indies Tour of India T20s. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.
Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the event's potential results. The current top outcome, as indicated by share price, is the completion of the match.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on whether the West Indies Tour of India T20s are completed as scheduled. The final result will be determined by official sources and widely available match results. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the outcome and their holdings in the market. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accurate settlement.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. Unexpected news regarding player injuries, changes in weather conditions affecting gameplay, or significant shifts in team form could all impact trader sentiment. Major upsets in early matches of the series could also lead to reassessments of probabilities. Any official announcements from the cricket boards regarding the tour schedule or match conditions would also be key catalysts. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves leading up to resolution.
