This market refers to the cricket match between India and West Indies scheduled for October 3 2026 at 4:30 AM ET in West Indies Tour of India ODIs. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds. This is because prediction markets incentivize participants to research and express their true beliefs, while sportsbook odds are influenced by factors like house margins and public biases. However, discrepancies can occur, particularly before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing this market to sportsbook lines can reveal potential value opportunities for informed traders, though it’s important to consider the different motivations and information sources driving each.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a specific outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The market’s liquidity, indicated by the trading volume, also impacts price discovery and the efficiency of the market.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the India vs West Indies ODI series, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The market will determine which outcome—India winning the series, West Indies winning the series, or a drawn series—accurately reflects the final results. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Unexpected injuries to key players on either team, changes in weather conditions affecting match play, or significant shifts in team form could all trigger price movements. Major news announcements regarding team selection or strategic changes could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, any surprising results in early matches of the series are likely to cause substantial adjustments to the probabilities reflected in this market, as traders reassess their predictions based on the latest performance data.
