Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing promotions or biases, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the most likely exact score. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when there's significant public interest or disagreement about the potential outcome. Analyzing these differences can be insightful for informed decision-making, but remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect new information and changing opinions. The market's efficiency depends on the volume of trading and the diversity of participants, and the current volume is $3,553.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final result of the West Ham United FC vs. Chelsea FC match is verifiable from credible public reporting.
