Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, risk tolerance, and the incentive structure of each venue. It’s worth comparing the implied probabilities to those offered by sportsbooks to identify potential value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more shares are traded, the prices adjust to find an equilibrium. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are influenced by news, team form, injuries, and any other information that might affect the outcome of the match. The more a particular outcome is favored, the higher its share price will climb.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
