This set of markets tracks how many points Washington and Nebraska will score together in the final quarter of their college football matchup. Each market has a different threshold, allowing participants to speculate on various levels of scoring intensity in the last quarter of play.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Washington vs Nebraska college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the result is based on the actual game outcome. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the 4th quarter count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a certain outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts leading up to the game. This can present opportunities for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of a specific outcome – in this case, whether the total points scored in the 4th quarter will be over or under a certain threshold. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. The more buyers there are for a particular outcome, the higher the price, and vice versa. This dynamic process reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Washington vs Nebraska game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the fourth quarter will be tallied, and the market will settle based on whether that total is above or below the threshold defined by the contracts. Resolution will occur after the official game results are finalized and publicly available, ensuring an accurate and transparent outcome for all traders involved in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Washington or Nebraska would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Furthermore, in-game developments during the first three quarters – such as a dominant performance by one team or unexpected scoring patterns – could lead traders to adjust their predictions and impact the price. Public sentiment and late-breaking analysis could also contribute to price fluctuations.
