These markets track the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of a college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
The markets resolve based on whether the combined points scored by both teams in the third quarter exceed specified thresholds, ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe the sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the odds here will adjust accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public opinion shifts leading up to the game. Keep in mind that these are distinct sources of information and represent different perspectives on the event’s probability.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. Traders are essentially betting on their prediction of the total points scored in the 3rd quarter. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who buy a contract, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that outcome. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the 3rd quarter of the Washington vs Nebraska game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome, allowing for fair settlement of all contracts.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Washington or Nebraska would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could shift traders’ perceptions of the likely outcome. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
