This event tracks how much one team outperforms the other in the latter half of a college football game. It focuses solely on the points scored after halftime, excluding any points from the first half or overtime beyond regulation time.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the second half (including any overtime period) of the specified college football game. If Utah State University wins the second half by a margin exceeding the threshold defined for each market (ranging from over 2.5 to over 23.5 points), that market resolves to Yes; if Washington State University achieves the required margin, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the final official result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific point differential thresholds.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and attempt to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook line is inaccurate, they can drive the price on Kalshi in the opposite direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights into potential value and market biases.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the second half. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders buy contracts predicting a certain spread, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions in real-time. The current price displays the implied probability of each spread being the final result.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread for the second half of the Washington State vs Utah State game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. Contracts predicting the correct spread will settle at 100, while those predicting an incorrect spread will settle at 0. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for all traders participating in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Washington State or Utah State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also shift the market. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game could also play a role. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi themselves can create momentum and influence the price, especially as the game draws closer and more information becomes available.
