If San Diego State outscores Washington State in the first half, that market resolves to Yes. If Washington State outscores San Diego State in the first half, its corresponding market resolves to Yes. If both teams are tied at halftime, the tie market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning with but sometimes diverging from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, incorporating factors like team statistics and expert opinions. This market, however, allows anyone to take a position, and the odds adjust dynamically based on the collective predictions of all participants. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team’s chances, the odds on Kalshi will shift accordingly, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher implied probability of that team winning the first half. Conversely, selling contracts lowers the price. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the first half of the Washington State vs San Diego State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official game statistics and scoreboard at the conclusion of the first half. The platform will then verify the outcome against these sources to finalize the settlement of all outstanding contracts. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence the movement of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Washington State or San Diego State would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team's playing style, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team morale, coaching decisions, or unexpected lineup changes could cause traders to reassess their predictions and adjust their positions accordingly, leading to fluctuations in the market price.
