This set of markets tracks various scoring thresholds for the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each threshold represents a different level of combined points that the two teams might achieve before halftime. The outcomes depend solely on the actual points scored during that specific half.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first half of the Washington St. versus San Diego St. college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 6.5, 9.5 points, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result of that game. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and insights. While sportsbook odds may initially be different, they often converge as more information becomes available and the event approaches. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities, especially as they benefit from continuous trading and diverse perspectives.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about whether the total points scored in the first half of the Washington State vs. San Diego State game will be over or under the specified line. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and capitalizing on discrepancies between their beliefs and the market price. The market dynamically adjusts as more traders participate and new information emerges.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the first half of the Washington State vs. San Diego State game will be used to determine whether the total points scored were over or under the line established for this market. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and objective determination of the result. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.
Several factors could influence this market leading up to the game. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Washington State or San Diego State would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might influence traders' perceptions. Public sentiment, reflected in polls or expert analysis, can also contribute to shifts in price, as traders react to evolving expectations before this market resolves.
