This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in an upcoming college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the points a team must exceed for the market to settle positively. The outcomes depend solely on the official game result, with specific rules for postponements.
All markets resolve based on the official point totals from the Washington St. vs Oregon St. college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated point threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, all open markets remain active and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all affected markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring impartial treatment for all participants regardless of the point thresholds defined in individual markets.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team's total points. It’s common to see discrepancies emerge as new information becomes available or as public opinion shifts. Examining these differences can be insightful, potentially revealing where the crowd believes sportsbooks are over or underestimating probabilities for the Washington State vs Oregon State game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes, and the prices of these contracts determine the implied probabilities. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, displayed on the dashboard, shows the available contracts at various price points, giving traders insight into the potential cost of entering or exiting a position. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a fluid and responsive assessment of the likely team totals.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team totals from the Washington State vs Oregon State game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the officially recorded team totals as reported by the governing sports organization. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct team totals will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on incorrect totals will receive nothing. The platform will verify the results and distribute payouts accordingly following the game's completion.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Washington State or Oregon State would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also influence trading activity. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also move the market. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could signal a shift in sentiment and lead to price adjustments in this market.
