If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue:

Kalshi's market resolves YES for both possible outcomes (Warriors win OR Celtics win), creating a logical contradiction that makes the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket correctly structures mutually exclusive outcomes across its multiple markets.

Hero Tip:

Avoid the Kalshi market entirely — it contains a fatal logical flaw where both teams winning triggers a YES resolution. This violates basic market design. Trade only on Polymarket's Warriors vs. Celtics moneyline and related markets, which have sound resolution logic.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Outlier: The market states 'If Golden State wins the Golden State at Boston professional basketball game originally scheduled for Mar 18, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes' AND 'If Boston wins the Golden State at Boston professional basketball game originally scheduled for Mar 18, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.' This means the market resolves YES regardless of which team wins, leaving no NO outcome possible and making the market logically incoherent.
  • Polymarket: Aligned with sound market design: Polymarket's Warriors vs. Celtics moneyline market resolves to 'Warriors' if Golden State wins and 'Celtics' if Boston wins, creating mutually exclusive outcomes. The market also includes well-defined contingency rules: 'If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.'
