Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe a particular exact score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment changes leading up to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the most up-to-date assessment of the likely outcome. The market’s efficiency is driven by the incentive for traders to accurately predict the result, as correct predictions yield a profit.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result of the Walsall vs. Salford match – the exact score – will be used to determine which shares pay out. Traders holding shares corresponding to the correct exact score will receive a payout based on the market’s pricing at the time of resolution. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure an objective and transparent outcome.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments could shift expectations. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Furthermore, public sentiment, as reflected in social media discussions or expert analysis, can impact trading activity. A significant shift in betting patterns on Polymarket itself would also be a strong signal, potentially indicating new information or a change in market perception.
