This set of markets focuses on predicting the outcome of the second half of a college football game between Wake Forest and NC State, specifically how many points one team might win by over the other during that period. Each market represents a different point margin threshold that must be exceeded for the outcome to be considered valid.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the second half (including overtime) of the Wake Forest vs NC State college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. For any market where Wake Forest wins by a specified margin or more in the second half, that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Conversely, if NC State wins by the specified margin or more in the second half, the corresponding NC State market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result of the second half. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific point differential thresholds listed.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can often differ from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on their own models and risk assessment, while this market is driven by traders who are actively buying and selling contracts based on their own insights. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – this market tends to incorporate that information more quickly than traditional sportsbooks. It’s common to see the prediction market odds move in anticipation of changes that haven’t yet impacted sportsbook lines.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders submit bids and asks for contracts representing different point spreads. The current price reflects the probability that traders assign to each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price is determined by supply and demand; if more people believe NC State will cover the spread, the price of contracts representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently aggregate information and reflect the collective belief of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread of the second half of the Wake Forest vs NC State game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. Contracts predicting the correct spread will settle at 100, while those predicting an incorrect spread will settle at 0. The resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Wake Forest or NC State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the game’s style of play, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could lead to traders adjusting their positions, causing fluctuations in the market price. Public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators could also play a role.
