Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. If a significant amount of money is wagered on a particular fighter, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly, potentially differing from sportsbook lines that haven't fully incorporated that information. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks in accuracy, especially when aggregating diverse opinions.
