Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to adjust probabilities based on their own research and information. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one player, but volume in this market is distributed more evenly, it could indicate disagreement with the sportsbook’s assessment. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information or varying levels of confidence in each outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and isn't influenced by external factors or pre-defined probabilities.

Several factors could influence the price action in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes to playing conditions could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected results in other matches involving these players, or even weather forecasts impacting playing surface conditions, could also drive trading activity and alter the implied probabilities reflected in this market.
