Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which are set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting patterns and risk management into their lines. This market, however, is driven purely by individuals wagering on their beliefs about the outcome of the Toronto W75 match. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, analytical approaches, or simply varying opinions on the relative strengths of the competitors.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants in the market, creating a real-time assessment of probabilities.
