Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a large number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price will move accordingly. Discrepancies can arise from differing information sources, biases, or simply a different assessment of player form and potential. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbook odds in accuracy, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in their victory. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand, creating a dynamic and responsive prediction of the match's result.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official result of the W75 Poitiers tennis match between Liv Boulard and Harmony Tan, as reported by a recognized tennis authority. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement.
