Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If there's a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be perfectly accurate. Examining the differences can be a valuable exercise for informed decision-making.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares bought for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, indicating increasing confidence in that result. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the latest information and sentiment.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team strategies or even weather forecasts impacting the match could also cause movement. Public opinion, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also play a role, though the market isn't necessarily tied to those sources. Significant trading volume itself can also drive price changes, as large buy or sell orders can create momentum.
