Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on information and analysis. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the event, or that new information hasn’t yet been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially when there's strong public interest.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share represents the probability of Love-Star Alexis winning, while a 'no' share represents the probability of Mia Kupres winning. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket.
