Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially when there’s strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. If a large number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they may express that view through this market, potentially creating a difference in implied probabilities.
