Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market’s odds are driven by actual money being wagered. It’s common to see discrepancies emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the odds can reveal where the crowd believes there’s value, or where sportsbooks may be over or underestimating a player’s chances of winning.
