Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis that may not be immediately priced into traditional sportsbook odds. While sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk assessment, this market allows anyone to participate and express their belief about the outcome of the Istanbul W50 tennis match. This can lead to differences in probabilities, especially as new information emerges or public opinion shifts. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or changes in player form than traditional betting venues.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or other prediction markets. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system.
